Recently moving to LA from Nashville, I knew I had to try Dave's Hot Chicken to see if it gave my city a run for their money. I ordered the single slider (extra hot) and a side of fries. I was thoroughly impressed with the level of heat coming from the sandwich. I am one that can handle heat very well, and by the end of me finishing it, I was having to clear my nose. Dave's is the OG Hot chicken place in LA. They compete with Howlin Rays. Both are great but Dave's sauce is one of the best I have had. Tenders are perfectly cooked. Fries crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Slider is made of soft buns added with crunchy pickles. This place usually gets super busy with waiting for over an hr or so, please plan your trip accordingly. The place has small dine in section, which can be a hassle at times. I was in line for an hour when I went, but I must say it was pretty good hot chicken. Would I wait in line for an hour again? No. But I will go back if there isn't a line.

It was last night when I was craving Dave's friend chicken and I decided to go buy it myself for the first time instead of ordering it . Well, I drove to the parking lot straight to the drive through only to Find out that it was Starbucks drive through . Omg! Lucky for me, I was able to use the 20 min stuck in the drive through wisely and order my sliders online on Dave's website . We've had this chicken 100 times and it's always great. Chicken is tender, fries are crisp and the bread somehow doesn't get soggy. The menu is limited to a few things, done well.
Small takeout style place with quick service and great food! I ordered a la carte because I didn't want fries but the combo is about the same price so if you want fries and a drink go for it! The spice levels are great, I ordered hot and it wasn't too spicy at all. The coating on the chicken is well seasoned and crispy and the chicken itself tastes very fresh and juicy. Hands down the industry standard for good hot chicken. I would go for mild or medium usually and always devour my meal. Their sauce is flavorful and I recommend getting their cheese fries.
