Dr. Kelly Surgical unit is the best. Most of owners really want to take care of their fur babies, but veterinary clinics can be so expensive. I highly recommend. The staff were great. No issues. And I am ok with not having a front desk person to keep the cost down. I get my fur baby teeth cleaned every year and this year with the high inflation I could not afford the $900 at his regular vet. I can't say enough great things about this place, in particular our hero, Sunshine! From the moment I called, to post surgery, we were treated with kindness and patience. When I called right after finding out my dog had a cancerous tumor, I was panicked and disheveled. It was a Friday afternoon so I didn't even expect to speak anyone let alone get scheduled. So, to start, this isn't a full service vet, they're a surgical unit. You don't visit here to have your pet looked at, you go here after you've already been told they need surgery. Don't complain or give them bad reviews because they don't do services you wanted, they're only for surgery. Second, they see dozens of animals a day, don't complain if they "misgender" your pet (refer to a "he" as a "she" vice versa), leaving bad reviews for something that stupid says more about the reviewer than the business. Dr. Kelly and her staff are amazing. They give you an estimate over the phone or via email which was less expensive than the regular vet that I went to. They send reminders before the surgery to make sure your pet doesn't eat food prior to the surgery. When you drop your pet off, they explain everything to you and let you know when it's time to pick your pet up. I will definitely be using them again when it's time to get Kairi's dental cleaning.
This veterinary office refused to see my pet or provide even a basic price estimate for a mass removal surgery unless I first went to another clinic to get bloodwork done. The issue is that they don't offer bloodwork themselves yet still require it before discussing care or costs. Requiring clients to pay another vet examination fee, transport results, and only then receive an estimate makes no sense and is a completely unnecessary barrier to care. Be careful of their pricing. They quote you one price and then when you get there they have 100's of dollars of necessary add ons which makes them as expensive as a full service clinic!
I think they treat the animals OK, not sure yet. However, there's an integrity problem here in terms of my experience. The representative and I discussed that I did not want to have or be charged for a line item of $321. She expressly said that this amount would be deducted from the total and we circled a negative sign near the total, -321. When I went to go pick up my dog, it wasn't deducted. My little girl had teeth extractions done here at 10:45 this morning. I also asked for a nail trimming. LOOK AT WHAT THEY DID TO HER!!!! They cut into the nerve of 4 different nails and into her paw!!! I'm crying so hard rn. They have appointments stacked back to back!
