Went to see Dr. Frank for pain in ball of my right foot. He said it was caused by loss of fat between my metatarsal and skin due to my age. He did not give me any guidance on how to care for it. His attitude was that, hey, you're old (78) so deal with it. Before sending me out the door he handed me a couple of cheap foot pads but provided no guidance on how to use them or where to place them. He didn't even tell me if they should be stuck to my foot or to my shoe insole. Since my appointment I have learned much more online t... read more
Business response:
There is no record of Dr. Frank seeing this patient in any of his 4 offices. Dr. Frank has always been a patient advocate and would never tell a patient "hey, you're old so deal with it". If this is really a patient then please call Dr. Frank at 301-868-7670 to figure this out otherwise please stop this defamatory type of language against his medical practice.
Worst foot doctor ever. All he wanted to do was have me pay $300 (my deductible) for some orthodics and take advil. There was no interest in getting me better. Not to mention the Orthodics, were heavy. My shoes were lighter without them. I had to go to another doctor who gave me better light orthodics and paid attention to the issue and healed me. Not to mention the fact that office never took my co-pay and then added $5 everytime they sent a paper statement. Avoid them and save your money.
Business response:
Hello, we take patient feedback very seriously and always want to make sure every patient has the best care. Your complaint about "heavy" orthotics is inconsistent with other reviews of my practice. My staff and I are unaware of any patient with this type of issue and have no way to know since it is an "anonymous" post. If this is an actual patient, then please call me at 1-301-868-7670 so I can figure this out. If this is not true then please stop.
I cannot recommend Mr. Frank for tendon/muscle/ligament foot injuries. I felt I was getting lip-service, not knowledge. I saw him due to weakness of big toe, which caused uneven gait and pain in joints. He is soft-spoken, and listened, but refused to look at MRI I brought, saying it takes "time" to see them. I sought and found Nr. 1 foot orthopedist in the US, who reviewed MRI in less than 5 mins, and identified the problem which required prompt surgery, which was a complete success.
Business response:
I saw this patient in my Silver Spring office once in July 2017 after having visited several other foot and ankle surgeons in the area. He presented with a MRI of his foot which concluded that there was no evidence of any ligament, tendon, or other soft tissue damage in his foot therefore I did not recommend foot surgery on him. Additionally, I ordered another MRI of his foot which was shown to have no tissue tears. I have done thousands of foot and ankle surgeries but only when necessary.
I saw this podiatrist because of hammer toe and ruptured plantar plate (PP) (diagnosed by an orthopedic surgeon, a Medical Doctor, I saw AFTER this podiatrist). Dr. Frank could not read MRI image, didn't do basic tests to test for PP rupture, and could not state what the problem was with my toes. He didn't seem rushed, but also didn't seem knowledgable. I had surgery few months after with a physician to correct the issue.

I didn’t appreciate appreciate it when the doctor tried to steer me toward buying a $30.00 medication from his office (no insurance accepted) when he could have phoned a script to my drug store which accepts my insurance. Final cost: $3.00. While some patients may find the doctor operating a pharmacy as convenient, I find it deceptive and another source of income for the doctor. I haven’t seen such an operation since I brought my dog to the vet.
The worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. I was sent to see him bexcuse my foot was suspected by a neurologist and orthopedic to have had a tissue tare. He was insistent they were wrong even though I had all the 5 tests with me to show otherwise. He would not look past the most simple explanation and rushed me out. He didn't even have a professional opinion as to what I needed to do next and expects me to live with a foot thato does not work. Lazy approach to patient care.
