Outstanding and unpretentious doctors, knowledgeable technicians, and friendly client service representatives. This hospital is definitely worth the drive from Pacific Grove.

I want to say for starters that I RARELY review anything, HOWEVER, East Lake Animal Clinic has impressed me beyond belief. Our beloved family Boxer was tragically run over and killed the night before Thanksgiving on Freedom Blvd chasing a coyote from our yard. The people who hit her were nice enough to try and save her so they brought her to the clinic about 10pm. She was already gone when she arrived, but at least they tried. Since the 1980s I have taken my animals to East Lake Animal Clinic. I have never been disappointed, and my animals have always been well cared for. The staff, assistants, and vets have been kind and courteous. Having pets brings both joy and inevitable sorrow--and they have been with me through both. Just this evening I took my dog in for a smallish emergency, a torn toenail. She was seen immediately and treated. From miserable to sleeping happily at home within an hour. I recommend ELAC highly.

I adopted a new dog from the Salinas SPCA and it includes a free checkup at participating vets. We saw Dr. Liao. Even though this was a free visit, and I specifically told him that I lived a county away and would be going to my regular vet in Silicon Valley, he still answered all my questions and didn't rush me out of the office. Unfortunately, the dog I adopted had a grade 5 heart murmur that wasn't disclosed to me at the time of adoption. "Somehow" the medical papers weren't with the adoption information. With all the bad reviews on this clinic I am really shocked because I haven't had one bad experience here, they have all been better than great! I've never had to wait for more than 10mins for an appointment or for the emergency situations. My regular vet I wait more than 15-30mins for my appointment so to not have to wait is amazing. I am going to be switching from my vet to here. I have been here quite a few times, most for emergency situations, but today it was a routine visit and I couldn't be any more happier! Dr. Spencer is the very best. We took our cat Patches in and she took the time to answer all of our questions. She was so very nice and understanding. Our cat is doing so very well now. Thank you Dr. Spencer!!!!

Went in for the first time today, my little 10 year old Chihuahua was in desperate need of a nail trim. I recently moved to the area and had only taken my pup to one place for the trim a month ago and it was so bad. She screamed and cried the entire time and almost everynail was cut too short so when I came to East Lake I let the technician Jordan know my little Matilda had long nail quiks and was sensitive, they took her to the back and did her nail trim and her rabies shot. I've been taking my little dog, Valentina, to the East Lake Animal Clinic for years. I've never had an issue with them. The staff is extremely nice and caring. They make my doggie and myself feel better during our visits. We stick to seeing Dr. Yu every check up unless there is an emergency and he is not there. He has kept my little one comfortable, especially with her health issues as she is 16 years old now. If we hadn't gone to this Vet I'm sure I wouldn't have my little one with me anymore.
