Enjoyed dinner and can’t wait to come back again. guacamole and chips- 5+ * Chicken tortilla soup- 4.5* Fish tacos- 5 * Server: Mitchell - 5+ * Vibe- 5 * pink lights near the bar Shout out to our server, Mitchell C!! He was efficient and very polite, friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, was thorough and brought extra napkins, and checked in. Also, he helped recommend the items above, as it was our 1st time here. Food was delicious!!!! Dinner was great! Thank you! Will come back again!! NKC

My partner and I went right when El Jefe opened around 5 PM. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our server was also quick. He was friendly and attentive to our requests. We were early enough for happy hour, so I was able to enjoy a half priced margarita and ordered nachos with carne asada for myself. My partner got the pork belly tacos. The food was really good and the portions definitely matched the price. We decided to eat at El Jefe’s Cantina at Circus Circus at the Row in Reno. I ended eating the Quesabirria (Braised Beef Shortribs, Asadero Cheese, Chopped White Onions, Cilantro And a Delicious Consommé). My wife opted for the Chicken Fajita which came on a Sizzling Platter and Flour Tortillas. Ohhh Boy…Both Plates were DELICIOUS!!! Also, our Server, “Mitchell C.” Was OUTSTANDING!!! Highly Recommended!!!

Excellent food but expect long waits for both seats and service. This restaurant is located inside one of the large casinos in Reno and is easy to access. It’s located in the second floor and has spread out seating as well as a centrally located bar. No outdoor seating due to it being inside a casino. Food here was excellent! They have a limited but delicious offering of various Mexican dishes and cocktails. The food was well prepared and delicious. The cocktails were well prepared and had enough liquor to justify the cost.... read more

They accommodated our large group of 11 with only a short wait. We received good service from our waiter. We were a little bummed that we had to pay for chips and salsa, as most local places provide them for free. Dinner and drinks were good. Good ambiance.
