Since moving back to Phoenix, I have rented at Extra Space Storage twice. Why twice? Because the first time, after 6 months they raised my rates significantly, so I moved to another location. The second time, the same thing happened. They say they are adjusting for market conditions. total BS. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Bottom line, I will never rent from them again.
When Chris, the OG manager, wasn't out on leave, this store was amazing! If I ever had a question or concern, he was always very kind and helpful. He kept the store safe and clean. In the last couple months, since he's been gone, my rent increased dramatically, without warning. My rent is now a considerable amount more than what your website offers at same location, for a smaller unit! DO NOT RENT HERE!! Unless you want your rent to go way up every 3-6 months. I was paying $91 for my unit, get a letter in the mail, they are increasing to $172. Not like a small increase to like $96 or $100. $172. In the past the manager has gotten it down to around the same, but apparently my unit is somehow in more demand so the "current going rate" is $220 even though it was $91 just 6 months ago.
