I was pleasantly surprised to see a friendly and customer focused person, Robert at this location having previously rented at the Valparaiso location. Congratulation on becoming a manager! The facility overall is nice and well kept, the staff is pleasant to deal with, one in particular Angel, was extremely helpful. The issue I have is within a 2 year timeframe the rate was increased 3 times. Two increases were while I occupied the first until and also within the first year which prompted me to downsize, after one month in the second unit the rate increased from $100 to $170 which is why I ultimately moved on. I would advise anyone looking to use this facility to beware of the bait and switch pricing.
Renting a storage spot here was very easy to do, very secure, clean, and never had an issue with rodents or bugs. The winning part was that I never had to worry about swinging temperatures damaging our belongings. The guy that works there, I cant remember his name, was always friendly, and he can always be seen walking around and keeping things clean and monitoring to make sure everything was secured. 10/10 would rent space here again.
Robert was amazing today! The special attention he showed my grandmother i wont ever forget! The service given EVERYTIME is amazing though honestly! Brandon is always quick to help as well im sorry i dont know every name but we sure appreciate the kindness shown to us and recommend highly if i could give 10 stars i would!
Alway like to lead with a positive so let me say rhat whenever we have dealt with anyone at the merrillville facility, they have been friendly, helpful and professional. My mother rents a unit there and has for almost 2 years. She isn85 and likes to pay by check and is not comfortable with dropping it in the box. We have been there several different times the last being 7/8/25 and there was no one there and the cl8ck says they will be back at 12 15.
