I spent thousands to end up with further blurriness and eye discomfort. Went to 4 appointments and the post op visits he just said that it will get better, which it didn't.

No one returns email questions to schedule surgery. Meds and lenses.

My last visit Dr. Josephson dropped me as a patient and said I would have to see someone else when I informed him that I was having someone else do my eye surgery. He showed no concern for me as a patient and barely covered the exam results with me.

Dr. Josephson owns the practice Eye Specialists and Surgeons of Northern Virginia. He has hired someone for contact evaluation that has no idea what she is doing. Dr. Julia Pierce wrote both contact and eyeglasses prescriptions for me that were horribly wrong. My vision was still blurry with the contacts I was given and I was told that sometimes eyes needed to 'acclimate' to new contacts and it may be different once I left the office and went into the 'real world'. This is the worst eye exam experience I have every had. Exam took 2.5 hours to complete and then once I ordered my glasses and contact, the prescriptions were incorrect. Then when I went back, the follow up exam took 3.5 hours and I was told Eye Specialists & Surgeons would not reimburse me for any damages due to their incorrect prescriptions. This is malpractice. People are friendly enough but lack professional experience in this field. DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE.

Dr. Josephson never explained the potential problems with the Symfony lens to me. The surgery he did on my eyes has ruined my life. He tried to fix my problem by doing a procedure that now makes it much more difficult to replace the lens. That procedure did not help at all. I truly wish I could give zero stars.

Business response:

Dear Anonymous, We are humbled by your review. We take pride in always going through the process of surgery, risks, benefits, and alternatives in as much details as possible to set realistic expectations for each person's individual needs. Again, I apologize for the undesired outcome. Since I do not know who wrote this review, I would love if you would reach out to me directly at josephsoneye@essnv.com to evaluate your case and formulate a plan to improve your vision. Humbly, John Josephson MD

He is a not a doctor at all , he totally did business with us. We been to his clinic seeing just the online reviews to get a opinion on pterygium. in our first appointment seeing the pterygium growth in both my eyes and he scared us you have to go through a surgery soon, if not if it grows till the eye lid, you will be loosing the eye sight. We agreed to go through surgery and after 2 months of surgery, the pterygium is back and he said he will do another surgery on the same eye.
