I cannot recommend Mr. Frank for tendon/muscle/ligament foot injuries. I felt I was getting lip-service, not knowledge. I saw him due to weakness of big toe, which caused uneven gait and pain in joints. He is soft-spoken, and listened, but refused to look at MRI I brought, saying it takes "time" to see them. I sought and found Nr. 1 foot orthopedist in the US, who reviewed MRI in less than 5 mins, and identified the problem which required prompt surgery, which was a complete success.

Business response:

I saw this patient in my Silver Spring office once in July 2017 after having visited several other foot and ankle surgeons in the area. He presented with a MRI of his foot which concluded that there was no evidence of any ligament, tendon, or other soft tissue damage in his foot therefore I did not recommend foot surgery on him. Additionally, I ordered another MRI of his foot which was shown to have no tissue tears. I have done thousands of foot and ankle surgeries but only when necessary.

I saw this podiatrist because of hammer toe and ruptured plantar plate (PP) (diagnosed by an orthopedic surgeon, a Medical Doctor, I saw AFTER this podiatrist). Dr. Frank could not read MRI image, didn't do basic tests to test for PP rupture, and could not state what the problem was with my toes. He didn't seem rushed, but also didn't seem knowledgable. I had surgery few months after with a physician to correct the issue.

I didn’t appreciate appreciate it when the doctor tried to steer me toward buying a $30.00 medication from his office (no insurance accepted) when he could have phoned a script to my drug store which accepts my insurance. Final cost: $3.00. While some patients may find the doctor operating a pharmacy as convenient, I find it deceptive and another source of income for the doctor. I haven’t seen such an operation since I brought my dog to the vet.

The worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. I was sent to see him bexcuse my foot was suspected by a neurologist and orthopedic to have had a tissue tare. He was insistent they were wrong even though I had all the 5 tests with me to show otherwise. He would not look past the most simple explanation and rushed me out. He didn't even have a professional opinion as to what I needed to do next and expects me to live with a foot thato does not work. Lazy approach to patient care.
