We purchased a Rheem AC unit from FL Air in December 2021. On, Wednesday, June 12th 2024, it started blowing hot air and not cooling. They sent a service technician out right away who diagnosed a major leak with an Outdoor TX-V part that needed repair. We were told someone from the office would call the next day and let us know when the part could be ordered and fixed. The office called the next morning and said we weren’t going to like the news. I called FL-Air Heating & Cooling because our AC wasn’t cooling properly. Troy Akins came take a look and told me the compressor is busted. Together with his boss on speakerphone they tell me that my options are getting a new compressor and coil for about $6,000 with no warranty or a new system for about $9,000 with 10 year warranty. I called another company the next day for a 2nd opinion and they say the compressor is fine. I had a great experience with who I talked to on the phone and who scheduled the appointment. My husband had a not so great experience with the tech. The tech was pushy and swore up and down that we had one issue when multiple other companies have stated it was another issue and fixed the issue thus backing up their claim. Also couldn't offer a temporary fix with out charging us over 1000k when other companies were willing to offer cheaper and more customer friendly options. Unfortunately will not ever use again
