Took our dog here 2 days ago, he was in need of immediate care. They are supposed to be an Emergency Vet. Arrived at 7am to find a sign stating. NO VETERINARIAN TODAY!! Are you kidding? Had to drive another 30 minutes toward Daytona. Our fur baby died 1 mile from the office in my wife’s lap. Maybe he still would have passed, but immediate care may have saved him. I will never recommend this place. Absolute joke .

Business response:

Dear Mr. Rich Florida, Please accept our deepest condolences. We have had to make some tough scheduling decisions lately based on lack of staffing. We are a general practice that sees emergencies, and not strictly an emergency hospital. And sadly, there are days that we do not have an emergency doctor on duty. I would implore you to call any hospital before arriving due to the doctor shortage that most ER hospitals are experiencing. If you would like to speak to someone in the management team, please call us at 386-439-1606... read more

I am a pet sitter and I am watching a cat that hasn’t urinated for four days so I got there and tried calling the phone number to let them know I was there but nobody answered so I walked in and they told me to go back out and wait for somebody I waited outside in my car with the air conditioning running because you can shut it off for 20 minutes finally I saw an employee in the parking lot and I asked her to go in to find out why it’s taking so long within five more minutes then somebody came out and brought me in so I don’... read more

Never ever go to this vet. I have a 20 year old cat that they have been seeing for 9 years. I called recently to simply renew a mild appetite stimulant. They have informed me that they can not renew the prescription because I have not been there since 2019. I informed them that my cat was fine and due to Covid I felt there was no need to bring him in. They still refused citing some law. They never even called to tell me that they would not renew. So, I guess they are okay with just letting my cat die.

Business response:

Dear Ms. Fennell, We know how frustrated you must have been when you could not get what you needed due to a law. The entire veterinary industry is governed by Florida State Statute: Chapter 474.214 (please see below for link) Our doctors must abide by these laws or risk disciplinary action and/or loss of licensure. A section within this statute states that a veterinarian must see their patient within one year to lawfully prescribe medication. This law is in place to protect you and your sweet fur baby. I’ve included t... read more

Never again, never again!

Business response:

Hello, Ms Gerber, we are sorry that you are displeased. Our doctors must abide by Florida Statue F.S.A. § 474.214 and have examined a pet within a year to be able to administer medications. If you would like to discuss this further. please feel free to call our hospital and speak with a member of our management team.

UPDATED REVIEW Dr. Mendez is worth her weight in gold. She is caring, compassionate and patient. She always puts the needs of our fur kid first and takes time to discuss, explain and answer questions. She is the reason we return to FAH again and again. Also, a big shout out to Practice Manager Stephanie who went above and beyond to assist with an unusual situation. Bobtail Tux and I thank you!! =^~~^=

Business response:

Dear Ms Gibson, I left a message on your phone for you to call us so we could speak about your visit. We are sorry that we have disappointed you and would like to find out what we can do better next time. Please call and ask for the management.

Today I needed a new bag of our dog's prescription diet food prescribed by one of the veterinarians at this clinic. When I walked up to their table blocking their front door they asked my name, my pet's name, and for my credit card information. The lady then went inside to get the food that I needed. Someone else walked out of the building and told me that they couldn't provide service to me at this time and that I must have done something to the facility. Luckily I was able to get Annabelle's food at Banfield so my girl ... read more

Business response:

Hello Ms. Screnock, After speaking with you yesterday and explaining our COVID safety protocols, I was able to speak to some of the receptionists about what happened. I can provide more information for you if you are interested.

EXTREME WAIT TIMES are just the start of a horrible experience! My cat was getting skinny and I found live white worms by his litterbox, so came on a Monday as an emergency for tapeworms. I waited THREE HOURS BEFORE THEY SAW MY CAT! (called from home & still sat in my car most of the day!) The "relief" vet charged me $548 for deworming and stuff like pain killers and blood work, & I went home FOUR hours later thinking my cat was going to make it. The next day, Oreo, decided even tuna( right from the can) was no good, so I ... read more
