I was told by Dr. Lyons' office staff on multiple calls that he was particularly bad at getting through files for new patients. This went on for four months, until I finally called again and the staff told me he denied my referral because I did not provide any documentation of a family history of the condition I was there to pursue diagnosing. This is a sign that Dr. Lyons simply didn't want to be bothered with a new patient, because my referral was from a cardiologist who highly suspected I have this condition, and family h... read more
Saw him when I was first diagnosed with MS. I wasn't put on any therapeutic drugs until I had a second relapse. And it wasn't helping. He should have switched me to another one. I likely would not have the neurological deficit I have if he had done so. And he told me I would just have to live with the profound burning pain in my lower body and feet. I fired him and started seeing a female neurologist who had just set up practice. She has effectively managed my MS for 22 years.
Dr Lyons was a very nice man BUT they have had two Dr.’s leave their group and it is near impossible to get in for an appt. I waited two weeks for the first test and then it was going to be over a month to get in for the next appt. Today would have been that appt. I had bad symptoms the whole left side of my body was numb and they told me over a month to get in. Long story but I went elsewhere thank goodness I am three weeks post op from a baseball size tumor in my head that I was killing me
He may be a halfway decent doctor when they finally get around to seeing you. They act like they are doing you a favor by letting you wait 3 weeks for an appointment. If you're in pain, they could care less. Recommend you find another place because they canceled my appointment after I waited three weeks even though my regular doctor recommended me to them. I've been their patient for over 3 years. No care or concern for patient welfare. Only the front desk personnel time. BAD customer service.
I was experiencing severe pain. My family physician referred me to Dr Lyons to determine the cause of nerve pain over my body. It took a month to get his office to call back .after I was waiting another month to see him. Pain became so excruciating I went to the ER. I've never cried in public but I was sobbing. I was prescribed an opioid until my appointment.. Dr Lyons was rude and was not interested in my symptoms. He interrupted me and snapped that he didn't prescribe narcotics!
