Golden Lodge Assisted Living is a new and large facility. The staff here really know what they are doing. We would recommend to others families looking.

Golden Lodge advertises chef prepared meals, but the food is very sub standard, it is overcooked and inedible and our loved ones are very dissatisfied. However the community is very clean, the staff are wonderful people they do take great care of the residents and that is something we are not concerned with. They aren't at full capacity so the activities have been a little minimal but the new activities director seems to be doing a really good job so far. They do take different field trips into town and to different events.

Management changed a few weeks before my mom's passing. They were still transitioning to new fees and policies. If they keep the one price regardless of care level that is helpful for budgeting. We went there mainly for this reason and that meals were anytime, but that all changed when she actually moved in to specific times. Meal choices were also being limited under new management from an expansive menu.

They are definitely understaffed and the staff they do have do not seem well trained at all. Their logistical system they use could be more more well rounded. When the hospice people were requesting different medications it would take forever and they would have to do it over and over again. There is definitely some room for improvement.

No leadership. Understaffed!! Very unorganized. Don't be fooled by the nice building. I had my mother stay 4 days in respite care. Half of what they pomised never happened...including missing 2 medication schedules. But, if that does not worry you; she stayed 4 days and I was billed for 7. There is a reason they have never been at capacity. They are extremely disorganized, not clear with staff or family members, changing their minds much of the time regarding policies, grumpy staff, extremely high turn over with staff, very little follow through with items that need to be taken care of in apartment, management doesn't answer emails, and on and on. I would not recommend this facility at all !
