Nicest hotel on the island, for a price Holy cow it's expensive for what you get. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely place, but you're really paying for the view, the prestige (all the locals will tell you it's the nicest hotel on the island), and the perfect location in MV/Edgartown. For example, our single room at HVH, for the price of a modest beach house rental on LBI, was a bit... junky. Luxury, comfort, service. Thought on-site dining could have been better but better dining venues are near by. Harbor View validates the saying “you get what you pay for.” Here you pay well and play well. They have golf carts to drop you off and pick up anywhere in Edgartown. They pretty much take care of everything. Great concierge services. Started original stay in a cottage suite. Plenty spacious and very accommodating but no view to speak of. Expected better The fact that when we got there, after travelling for hours and hours, I got to a dark room with a large grey electricity transfromer/generator type thing outside our ground floor room, I went over to aee if there was another room available, my wife who was using a wheelchair to get around at the time recovering from a femoral bypass and loosing a toe to diabetes hobbled onto he end of he balcony and lit a cigarrette, I came back with a staff member who pointed out that there was also no smoking on balcony's,... read more
