I was referred to Dr Hechler by my kids dentist who had their family members treated by this office. I work in a medical office environment and this place is one of the MOST professionally run offices I have experienced. Dr. Hechler is always courteous with my kids and works hard to make it a good time having braces. I had only one encounter with an assistant who was short with me for my daughter arriving late but thankfully she isn't there anymore. I loved the staff and Dr. Hechler was always willing to help me with understanding the progress of my son's treatment. I had been to other orthodontists in the area that were all about the money and getting us in treatment quickly to make a dollar. Dr. Hechler seemed to be more about the care of the longevity of my sons dentition. If you are wanting someone who cares and knows his stuff, go here!!
Our oldest daughter had braces for 10 months from Dr. Hechler which prompted us to use him for our youngest daughter who had a much greater orthodontic problem. Three other orthodontists recommended having her lower jaw broken to fix underbite. Dr. Hechler told us to be patient and even fixed her top teeth while we waited for her to finish growing. She is within 6-9 monts of finishing her treatment. We love Dr. Hechler and his office. Can't go wrong and extremely ethical.
Excellent care with compassionate and fun staff. They made me feel at home and that was so important.
After reading comments I realize I should say something. My daughter dreaded going- she said the staff was always scolding and unpleasant. Hechler told me at one point, he was going to remove her braces at the original expected date whether her teeth were straight or not. There appears to be a high turnover rate of assistants here, and my children see a new one almost every visit. And the new ones don't seem to be very knowledgable. My child was scolded about wearing a rubber band improperly, but it was the new new assistant who told us wrong at the last visit. Every issue is the patient's fault. And if you are a working parent, don't even try this practice. Scheduling is impossible!! I think the practice has really gone downhill in the last two years since Shana left. Most of his staff is amazing although the turn over of the good ones is a plenty and they have even said how horrible of a person he is. Dr. Hechler has a bedside manner of Willy Wonka on steroids and can "tell you of a plane crash with the gleam in his eyes.." Very condescending and hateful with a smile unless little Suzy comes in wearing a Pembroke uniform which he has no qualms putting her ahead of general admission with scheduled spots....
