We had a horrible experience. Stay away - they do nothing. It's a low functioning group All they do is sit and sleep in front of a TV set.
My loved one did not like food. They need major Improvements on the food options, and they need to clean the dining area more. They need more consistenicies of care for the residents, and they need to pay more attention to them.
PT was there for 2 months
They have recently lost all of the maintenance team members, and the head nurse has left. I wish I would have checked more into the community prior to moving here. However, I don't know if that would have changed anything. The administrator has been good to work with. They seem to have trouble getting workers. The food is terrible here.
It's assisted living and not for medical care. If your loved one is not mobile and can take care of themselves for the most part then this would not work for you. If they need assisted living then I would recommend this community
Do not recommend Memory Care at Heron. Daily observation Unable to care for dementia patients although few. Insufficient training. Do not properly care for residents there who resist help. Allowed my loved one to lay in soaked bed for hours missing meals . Also neglect attending to patients who need help eating. Understaffed. High turnover. Laundry not kept up. Stay far away from this place. My mother was a resident there for 2 months before we emergently moved her to another home. The best way I can describe the experience at Heron Club is that it has traumatized us all. I have many years of experience in the healthcare field as a registered nurse, so I expect realistic quality care and this facility lacks that. I did not care for this community at all. It was the feeling that I got from the place when I went in. The community was fairly clean and kept up. The staff was very nice and they were accommodating to us. I just did not think this would work.
