Lack of communication with the family. I only heard from someone when it was negative. At the [community name removed] I am kept in the loop on everything. For example, when she refuses to take her meds, or requesting permission to give her a Covid or flu shot. They also includes me in the monthly meetings via teleconferences I never experienced anything like this at Heron East. On a positive note, I had a lot of good experiences with some of the staff.
Do not send your loved ones here. Absolutely terrible. Extremely poor management. My father was there for for four months and I had to have him moved. They will try to overcharge you for everything. Those who are there review your bills very closely. Residents as well as staff that have been there for years are extremely upset with the way this facility is run. When it was discovered POA documents had not been sent by the ALF ... read more
The lowest listed price for a small studio is $2100.00 a month. But when entering, you will need to pay an extra non-refundable "community fee" of $3,000.00. If you are incapable of taking your meds., you will be charged another $250+ a month for them to administer them. If you need any level of care over the very minimum, it will be more than $300/ month more. So beware BEFORE you sign on.
Business response:
I am sorry if you did not feel that our pricing was fully transparent. We always disclose our community fee, rental rates and care charges prior to move-in. While the community fee and rental rate are straightforward the care charges are based on an assessment from a licensed nurse. Prior to signing the lease the nurse will schedule an assessment, review the care plan and present you with your care charges. After move-in you will have another assessment every 90-days or upon a change in condition to ensure that the care plan... read more
