Good. Haven't had the printer for long enough to know if I'm going to think it's a good printer or a bad printer.
Owning another Brother wireless laser made this an easy decision. Setup was simple and quick. Performs perfectly; scanner works well (and fast for a flat-bed ). Highly recommend if your needs are b/w laser w/scanner.
I have the printer working, but haven't actually completed the setup for the scanner. I just haven't had time and needed the printer for a project asap. So did that first. So far the printer has worked flawlessly. Its great, I had an inkjet printer before and bought this one specifically because it was a laser, so the ink wouldn't dry up and waste my money on cartridges. It is black/white, for my purposes I am ok with the black/white, gray scale.
Solid black and white printer that can scan on network. Low cost and better than HP.
For the price, I didn't expect razor-sharp text, but it's still pretty good. The only problem is that I often get several small smudges at the top of the first page I print after a couple days of inactivity. The second and following pages will be fine, but if the document is important I have to re-print the first page. I don't know if this will go away after I replace the toner cartridge, or whether other examples of this printer will have the same issue. Other than that, the printer is fine.
No more buying ink cartridges that run out quickly, even without any use. We only print black, so works great.
This is a very good home B & W printer. I have two Brother printers and they are workhorses. So far this printer look like a winner. Add the wireless capability and it is an all around printer. Easy
My HP LaserJet 2420 was becoming very old and crotchety (jamming when I printed more than five copies), so when it came time to get a new toner cartridge, I decided to get a new printer instead. We wanted a laser printer, because we were tired of buying ink cartridges for our inkjet printer after running less than 20 copies each time. This Brother is the right size for our needs. And Best Buy matched Amazon's price which was great!
