Excellent value and high quality printing. Easy to set up, is relatively quiet, and delivers smooth color printing. It has been "no hassle, no drama" 3 months into ownership (light usage, about 10 pages/week). It can print double-sided (let's save paper), and we had no problem printing from a cellphone either. The cartridges for this model cost a LOT less than for the other Brother models, and less than comparably equipped printers from other manufacturers. A breeze to set up Pulled it out of the box, removed all the packing materials, added paper, and plugged it in. Within three minutes I had selected my wifi network and entered the password. After that, I was printing from my iPhone with essentially no further setup. Setup on my Mac took about 15 seconds. Printing has been swift and trouble-free, which is a welcome departure from the HP printer this replaced. Only gripe so far is that it's a bit noisy.

this is a great printer This is a great printer for home. Easy to set up, connected quickly with my wifi. Makes good copies. Kind of heavy and bulky, but once it's in place there's no real need to move it. Highly recommend.
Impressive newer technology is an upgrade. I have only had this for a few days, but I am very impressed with the photo output compared to a $2000 1200dpi Ricoh C305SPF printer. It "struggles" most with bright reds, and dark grey areas. Note in particular the koala shoulder at bottom right between the Ricoh (1st Pic) and the Brother (2nd Koala pic). Facial tones are very good as well (3rd pic) though details in the exclamation mark and bottom wood panel is a little muddled, and for photos brightness should be increased. Its a... read more

Five Stars Really good quality prints for the price.
I am very happy with this purchase. I love brother products for my Mac computers. I have been using brother printers for a long time. I had a Samsung last time and it was great but something went wrong with the firmware or at the motherboard or something. I tried to get Samsung to help us fix it but they did not even though it was only two and a half years old. At this price point it was more expensive for me to take the time figuring out how to fix the old one than to just buy a new one. I really did like the Samsung but si... read more
