I lived there for two years, overall I was very satisfied with Holly hills! I really like the environment there, it’s very beautiful and quiet, neighbors are friendly, leasing office and maintenance are responsive. Moreover the rental fees are very reasonable compared to the surrounding areas. If you want to live closer to the west campus but also pursuing good housing conditions, Holly hill should be your best choice!
1) The apartment was infested with roaches even though we kept it super clean. 2) Unfriendly staff. 3) We were charged a day of late fees for returning the house keys 19 minutes after the office opened. It wasn't our fault because we couldn't locate their drop-off box the previous night. I notified them by email that we would return it the next day because it's unsafe to just leave the keys outside the door. Bad customer service. 4) Ungated and unsafe community. I've had a great experience overall. Moving in was easy. The management staff is always helpful and friendly. The apartment is clean and well equipped. The neighbors are quiet and keep to themselves.
No roaches in my apartment though my roommate is not keeping it clean. Very warm in winter even without heater. The room is spacious enough for me as my previous apt in Shanghai was tiny. The best part is it's location, right beside both come and go stops for LL, and next to the leasing office, making it very safe and convenient.
Fortunately, we did not end up living in Holly Hill. However, our experience with the management was horrible. They did not show the apartment to us, charged us with application fees and a security deposit and one week before the move-in date, they told us our apartment is not ready! We went through a really hard time because of their irresponsibility.
