The appetizers like the tempura, soft crab, and fried oysters are a disappointment. Batter is good when it's light and crispy when fried. Fuji Concord 's are thick and chewy and not enjoyable to eat. At first, I thought this was just an anomaly during their soft opening, but multiple visits later, the quality of their batter has stayed the same. Whatever recipe you're using, it's not working. Your Vacaville location makes better appetizers.
