Classic Downtown St. Paul building that houses the Hotel 340 and St. Paul Athletic Club. The Hotel lobby rises two stories and features a huge fireplace, Lobby Bar, Hotel Guest Office. The room is ringed on three sides by a balcony. The 3rd Floor Balcony also boasts beautiful architecture and is a lovely event space that can also handle modern technical needs. The hotel guest rooms are nice appointed and some have great views...there's also a guest lounge on an upper floor.
Amazing Roaring Twenties hotel and multi-floor health club right next to transportation hub. It was fun to just hang and explore the building. We called and questioned the size of rooms and got deluxe King suite--actually two small units combined, so we got 2 baths, including great shower spray, bathrobe and some kitchen gear. What guests sacrifice in tiny bathroom real estate is gained in huge Hogwarts-like common areas, fireplace with music, sofas, library, and meeting rooms. No sags in mattress. Breakfast included. I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights to attend the Prince Tribute concert. The X'ecel entertainment center is only about a 5 block safe walk. There are lots of restaurants around and a few shops. The hotel is vintage with modern amenities. Very clean and comfortable. Staff at the front desk, very friendly and accommodating. The only downfall is there is no parking but parking is across the street and the hotel will discount to $17 for all day , no matter how many times you drive in and out several times a day. Was completely stunned. I'm a Marriott person and moved on a friend's recommendation. The gym is UNBELEIVABLE. Soooo fantastic with all the fun classes for free and the cardio equipment with chandeliers...mind blowing. Definitely using the pool next time. Bars are nice and ez as your checkin staff are your bartenders. My room is glorious and dinner at the sushi restaurant that I walked to through the skyway as it was raining outside was some of the best sushi I have ever had.
