The experience itself was not bad. The staff were mostly friendly and accommodating. The orientation process does feel like a salesperson is talking to you though and not so much a medical meeting with a doctor. The biggest issue is had was post operatively I had an immediate onset of floaters. When I saw the doctor they informed me that I had MANY floater, as many as they would expect to see in a person who is in thier 50’s, I was 26. Dear Eric: I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing post-surgery floaters. From my 20+ years of practice, there have been no reported cases of Lasik directly causing new floaters. You in fact may be the first case. Studies have shown that after Lasik pre-existing floaters can become more apparent because the patient is actively comparing their new vision to their previous vision. I have much worse sight and eye health now than before my PRK. I wanted to improve my vision but when they told me the correct treatment to have they didn't assess my full situation. I had rosacea (which effectively means I will have dry eye), a very high prescription, under-average thickness corneas and was 47 years old (which makes me an older candidate). OUTCOME AND AFTERMATH OF IT ALL WAS AMAAAAZING!!!! I CAN REALLY SEE LIKE IF I HAD CONTACTS OR GLASSES ON...JUST now have to get use to the fact i dont gotta take my contacts out everynight..lol
