Horrible practice, complete lack of transparency. They are pushy about getting you to do additional unnecessary services while acting like it's still part of what you requested. Got a bill for a few extra thousands than I expected.
I would not recommend Dr. Song to anyone. He did tests that did not correspond to my condition, and he was not careful at all. He did not reply to my medical questions and was very unprofessional in his treatement.
Business response:
Test was scheduled for medical condition based on discussion with patient. Annual examination is not a condition to manage complaint. Any lab test or imaging study can only be done with agreement due to medical necessity.
Never go to Joon Song. He charged me 900$ for an ultrasound. This doctor has corrupt moral values and is only looking for financial gains. If you are healthy he will find issues. He charged me for a routine ultrasound 250 and additionally 650$ for checking the arterial blood pressure. I told him I don't need that and the only explanation I was provided is that is the way his machine works. I asked for a pep smear and he did additionally 4 other lab works that I did not request.
Business response:
Unit price for each billing code is not the real payment from insurance. Each health insurance pays differently based upon own policy. Pathology lab runs tests from sample. Number of items are bundled. So, it is each lab's decision. It should also cleared that doctor's office and pathology lab have no financial relationship. There is no conflict of interest between two independent providers.
Do not go to Dr Song. Recommended surgery to make money. He did an ultrasound and refused to give me the images of the ultrasound. saying he can see that the tubes are attached to the uterus and a surgery is necessary to detach them. My previous ultrasound report did not show any so he said his machine is very special. When I mentioned I already had a lapro and there was no attachments inside, he was dumb-founded. He said may be the doctor did not see it properly. He charged $1400 for pap smear!

Opinion is based on finding and physical condition. Any previous finding and opinion is respected. But, endometriosis and pelvic finding is dynamically changing based on menstrual cycle and experience level. I feel sorry to negative opinion based on evaluation. Lab fee for pap smear is not from our office. That is strictly from laboratory that runs test. It will be reasonable to check insurance policy for the coverage. I do not think that surgical recommendation was given.
