I felt a bit dismissed when I shared my concerns about focus and memory, and was told that "90 out of 100 people" feel the same. While I understand ADHD symptoms are common, I came to the session hoping to be heard and taken seriously. Also, I was surprised when she mentioned needing to speak with my school or parents. As I’m 19 and legally an adult, I’d prefer to be directly involved in any decisions or discussions about my care.
Dr. Wang was not the right provider for me. She talked at me, telling me things about my life that were not accurate, making an assessment without fully listening and understanding me first. She was extremely negative and pessimistic about my situation and left me feeling much worse than before I met with her.
