Very few detailed sets, hardly any actors, no engagement at all. We spent the entire time from the security checkpoint to the end of the trail just being yelled at constantly to do something and herded like cattle. In every section we became Long conga lines almost immediately. This was on a Sunday, so I can only imagine what a Friday or Saturday would be like. I used to adore Spookywoods, not so much now. It was like going to Blockbuster right before they went out of business, sad and tired.
We waited for 3 hours- had people cutting in line in front of us- got there at 8:00 pm with our online purchased tickets-after line after line to go through one house to another we were just “ over it” and it was not even fun anymore. So many people allowed through the corn maze you didn’t have to shoot anything because everyone in front of you had taken care of it- it was more like “follow the leader “ no real fun at all. Took 6 teenagers and they had more fun the weekend before at Woods of Terror- A lot of hype and by re... read more
Last night was an absolute disaster.... we drove over 90 minutes from Gastonia to visit this critically acclaimed haunted trail. So, we wait to park(cool) We waited for tickets for over 45 minutes and get to window. Ask the lady if the VIP will bypass the line next to us to get through security.... nope everyone has to go through security... cool saved twenty bucks. Waited in security line another 45 minutes and get close to front and see a line for VIP. So obviously the lady at ticket booth had no idea what she was talking ... read more
My youngest son was scared in every section and watching him was very enjoyable. The only complaint I have is that our tickets said we would receive laser tag guns to “protect” ourselves from the zombies which my oldest son was looking forward to, but they weren’t ever mentioned during our visit.
has gone way down hill. not worth the long long lines
Lame. Zero scares. Characters seemed like they were just going thru the motions. Multiple characters didn't even have make up on. Almost every attraction/room had the characters simply hiding around the corner with a quick growl or boo. I have lived in High Point for 10 years and gone to SPOOKY WOODS at least 1 time every year. This was a cheap imitation of past experiences. No pirate ship. No walking thru the woods with a flashlight that kept cutting off. No Jason house. Totally lame. Even the "scary" tractor ri... read more
The good: It's the best haunted house I've ever been to. I love all things horror and even for diehard fans, it's a stellar haunted house. I've been coming here for over 15 years, since it was just one house and a few other things. The bad: No amount of awesome haunted house can make up for the systemic logistical failures and horrible organization. The traffic and parking are utterly insane. We were in line to park for over 2 hours. Let me run that by you again...over 2 hours of sitting in bumper to bumper traffic, driving... read more
