More amenities than the over-rated luxury hotels at a far better price.
The room climate controls didn't work. The room was a bit too hot for sleeping and we were unable to change the setting from heat to cool or change the temperature (the outside temperature was 48 degrees at the time). That appears to be pretty typical for hotels in general, unfortunately. The bathroom needs to be updated. There were no grab bars in the shower and the water pressure on the 4th floor was rather low. The breakfast area was very crowded at 9 AM (due to a football game and a holiday weekend, it was 100% occupied, which is not typical for them). We never saw anyone cleaning the tables. There was coffee but no tea, no juice and no eggs other than some hard boiled ones. Cereal was Cheerios or raisin bran. They did have bagels, muffins, waffles and small oranges. We had enough to eat but missed our morning tea. Importantly, the building, except for cameras, had very little security. The side doors, although they had card locks, were always unlocked and therefore accessible to absolutely anyone who wanted to enter the building. They only clean the rooms between guests, not everyday, attributing that to the pandemic (which is supposed to be over!), but that wasn't an issue for us since we only stayed one night. We have stayed in so-called luxury hotels that were far worse. Overall, I would say that these were fairly small complaints and we would probably come here again if needed.
The location just off of I-45 is convenient. We did not hear any highway noise in the room. Check-in was fast, easy and friendly. The room was clean, basic. It cost at lot less than staying at the hotel where the venue was located in downtown Dallas while being only 15 miles south. Although our room was next to the elevator, we never heard it. The room had a small refrigerator and microwave oven. The freezer froze our ice pack well. There was some frost in it indicating that it had not been cleaned. Parking was free. The TV had Spectrum cable with many channels including HBO but not TCM. A channel guide listing is one of the channels, if you can find it. A printed channel guide would have helped, but we really didn't have much time to watch TV during our stay. Actually, the amenities were better than the $300+ hotels with their expensive valet parking downtown that offer you nothing more than the room.Business Response:
