The place is nice and has great views of the river. The sunset from the balcony is always a nice experience. The pool area is nice as well and they welcome pets. I do think that it is always a bit pricey, and it is always short staffed. Breakfast is average nothing out of the ordinary. Restaurants and other activities are not within walking distance.
Check in was smooth, no issues, friendly helpful staff. Great location overlooking the lake & only a few minutes from main street. Prices are reasonable especially in today's inflation. Rooms & public areas were clean, breakfast was plentiful with the usual fare. Designated smoking area in a lovely, comfy gazebo, away from the lobby doors, so a plus for both smokers and non. Clean room, comfortable bed, tiny balcony with a great view of the river. Fixtures were a bit worn but not too bad. The breakfast buffet looked okay, but the only coffee was from a machine that used instant coffee, and it didn't work well. Tasted terrible, so we went to the Bluebonnet Cafe just down the road.
The staff here were all friendly and welcoming. The receptionist who I usually saw working the evening shift (I sadly did not catch her name but she's a Hispanic woman) was very nice and helpful—she even helped me find transportation back and forth to work by handing me a business card. The hotel is great itself, all of the staff we had met while on our 3 day stay were amazing at the front desk, other than the employee that was serving breakfast. Asked if my dog was a service dog and when I told her yes he is she then continued to stare at my family the entire time we sat trying to eat and make rude remarks about my dog under her breathe.
