Had been there numerous times before and always enjoyed the food but this time not so much. The bruschetta was below par with skin on the tomatoes, no basil, no garlic, and goat cheese! What kind of bruschetta is that? Had veal marsala. The waiter promised he'd come back with Parmesan cheese and never did. Asked if dinner came with any sides and was told no, so we ordered sautéed spinach. When the dish came it had potatoes and vegetables on the side. The spinach arrived at the end of the meal and we sent it back. The best pa... read more
Ordered the arugula salad with prosciutto. It was so salty I couldn't eat it. The plate looked untouched when the waiter picked it up but never asked if something was wrong. I ordered a side of spinach and a side of pasta. The pasta was tasty but the top layer was crusty. Obviously it had been put under a warmer for a while. My husband ordered a pasta dish with sausage. The sauce was dry and also appeared crusty. This is the second time we had a bad experience there. It will be the last. On a positive note, their famous ravi... read more
Nice place, great decor but the entire restaurant was freezing cold. Most of the women in the place were wearing their coats. Service was generally good. Food was hit or miss. Tiny, tiny portions. I ordered the Kangaroo, yes I actually did and the waiter specifically recommended a medium rare presentation, with which I agreed. Unfortunately it came out nearly well done and tasted pretty bad. Secondly, we were in the restaurant at 7:30PM and it was already sold out of bison steak, by contrast the mushroom ravioli she ordered ... read more
We have been going there for years during the SCI Convention. This year the food was so bad I was embarassed. We had invited guests and the quaility and flavor has gone way down from years past. We will not be visiting La Strada again.
Environment was typical for a casino restaurant. Service was good, attentive but the staff appeared almost frantic. Very disappointed in the quality of the food. From the reviews I read my expectation was for a great if not, exceptional meal. I have had better at Olive Garden. For the price I will not return. The wine our waiter chose for us was wonderful though.
Much hyped Italian restaurant in the Eldorado Casino. The food fell short and foodies will be able to pick apart the freshness from the dishes. The alfredo sauce was a let down, almost the same taste as from a jar. A Chicken dish was cooked fairly well, with broccolini that had been cooked way past its prime. A far better option, ironically in the same hotel, is Roxy. The owners seem to be paying more attention to this spot.
High prices for lousy food. The restaurant it'self was well layed-out and comfortable. What they , however, is someone who knows how to create food that matches the ambiance.
The "sommelier" began to pour the wine we brought before we ordered the cocktails we wanted. The server mumbled so quietly, we couldn't hear him. Two of our party ordered Bombay gin martinis and one of us ordered a Smirnoff martini. The server came back to inform us that Smirnoff didn't make a gin. Duh! Food very average, not much flavor. Hard to figure out all the accolades for this place. Won't be returning.
Had to ask for service and chair was broken and food was bad
