The facility is in near downtown Oakland near Lake Merritt. It has very nice views of the lake and Berkeley/Oakland hills. The place has a lot of nice amenities and provides 3 meals a day. Overall, I would consider this a place to live.
I would say it was a friendly place to live. It's fun to table hop at meal time; you meet all the great people who live there. Food is good. I always felt safe in the neighborhood.
Entryway nice - room to drive up and load or unload. Security presently a sign-in with a guard - being updated to a keypad soon, I was told. Building fairly new, recently upgraded . Seismic work, I was told, and paint and fixtures - probably furniture - it looked new. Hallways long. Unit I saw was pleasant, fairly roomy. Space is great - large rooms and walls half glass so there is plenty of light. The people are a community. So many of the residents volunteer to create experiences for all to share. Newcomers are welcomed into the community.
For us, there were certain individuals in the community that were especially inclusive and welcoming. My mother is Chinese and the Chinese community there made her feel more welcome.
[name removed] and [name removed] were quite instrumental in bringing this move to a more than satisfactory conclusion. If it wasn’t for her/them my mother & I might still be searching. Thank you, thank you for all you’ve done.
The facility is beautiful. [name removed] lives in a studio apartment with a beautiful view. Staff is excellent, food is more than acceptable. Many activities to choose from. Maintenance requests take a little while for response but not a problem yet. The overall feel of Lake park was outstanding. Also, residents seemed very friendly and engaged in the community.
The facility is amazing location spectacular views 1 block from lake Merritt good transportation for local shopping facility is clean and well maintained Meals and mostly good some not so much the residents are nice and friendly. Maintenance issues can arise it is a very old historic building. The rooms are large and comfy. Views amazing worth looking at Not your average independent living community way nicer
The facility itself is beautiful and recently went through a renovation. The staff was helpful and friendly, as were the other residents. I would recommend the facility to others.
