I have used this company for years for both furnace and air conditioner maintenance and check ups. They have always been prompt, professional and complete in servicing. If I do have a specific problem, they get back to me right away and take care of the problem promptly. Check up on air conditioner
Jim Gregory and his great crew replaced our entire roof, and did a superb job. As promised Jim not only replaced the cedar shake roof we had with an asphalt roof, but also replaced (and matched the color to the new gutters he put in). Roof was in very bad condition. Some shingles were missing, a leak had developed in one area, and overall, the roof appeared to have moss growing on it. Jim, the owner, came out and checked the complete roof. One area was so bad that the wood needed to be replaced, and he also determined that the original roof did not have the proper drip edge (I think that's what it's called) or adequate "flashing". VERY SATISFIED WITH L.R. GREGORY. HAVE USED THEM FOR HEATING & COOLING FOR ABOUT 5 OR 6 YEARS & NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH I DO THINK THE PRICE OF THE ELECTRICAL CONTACT WAS A LITTLE HIGH AT $98. A/C WAS NOT WORKING ON 2 YEAR OLD UNIT (NOT INSTALLED BY L.R. GREGORY). TECHNICIAN (ERIC K.) CAME OUT PROMPTLY & IMMEDIATELY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM (LOOSE WIRES IN FURNACE). HE ALSO FOUND THAT AN ELECTRICAL CONTACT IN THE OUTSIDE CONDENSER WAS GOING BAD BECAUSE THE LOOSE WIRES WERE CAUSING THE UNIT TO RAPIDLY TURN ON & OFF. HE REP... read more
THEY TRIED DILIGENTLY TO REPAIR THE OLD FURNACE AND NEVER TRIED TO TALK ME INTO REPLACEMENT. WHEN I DECIDED TO GO THAT ROUTE, THEY DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR ANY OF THE LABOR OR PARTS FROM THE ATTEMPTED REPAIR. ATTEMPTED REPAIR ON A FURNACE. NEEDED TO REPLACE IT.
Removing the decking on part of the roof seemed to go well until I noticed that he did not put back a small peak near the chimney. I asked Jim to do the roof for the entire house. He did not put back this peak and did not replace flashing by the chimney. This caused a leak in the house. I had the siding replaced on the house and called Jim Gregory to add new baby tins in a few areas. His man came and did nothing. This cause another leak in the house. unknown The technician stated the heater needed to be cleaned but stated the closet was very small and would another tech come out to clean it on the next working day (Monday). I had to manually turn on heater when the temperature got too low until a new tech came out Monday morning to clean it.
This was not a good experience, but, because they actually came to our home, we won't give them a failing grade as we did the two other "A" rated plumbers from Angie's List who didn't call us back or keep appointments. We are finding that few plumbers located in Lake County, Illinois actually install tankless heaters, but they will be more than happy to waste your time scheduling appointments to talk you out of an emerging technology they clearly don't understand or utilize. Bob came out and talked with us for awhile about heating systems and what we needed. He said he would send us a quote. We called several times but he never responded to our calls or sent a quote. Install furnace, electronic air filter and humidifier.
