**Title: Outstanding Service—More Than Just a Lender, a True Friend** I was shopping around for the best interest rates and compared offers from about 15 different lenders, including all the big names you'd find in a Google search. My girlfriend recommended I speak with Mark Gennusa, and to be honest, I was skeptical that he could beat any of the rates I had already gathered. However, after just a 15-minute conversation, Mark not only beat every other offer but also earned my business. I initially saw Mark as just another ... read more

Too much back and forth communication on emails from both Mark and Matt and getting things clarified. I don't know what could be better this is not a negative OK.

Overall experience was not great. Forms and documents had erroneous numbers (ie. incorrect amounts, incorrect home address). When information or amounts were questioned, he sent defensive responses and was not pleasant to work with. If we were not attentive to details, we would have lost thousands on several erroneous fees.

The most disrespectful, arrogant loan person I have worked with, ever. Can not keep his word. Changed the appraisal requirements, dropped the lender credit abruptly, then tried to blame ME for the situation. Was threatening on emails to get me to respond when he "thought" I was ghosting, while my neighborhood was without power and heating for a week in Central Texas.
Business response:
We are sorry to hear you were affected by the power outages in Texas last week. We sincerely hope you and your family are safe and have power restored. With respect to the mortgage you had applied for, it’s been almost a month since we started the transaction and we have made numerous requests for the documentation we need to move forward. We apologize that you felt rushed, but in-order to preserve the rate we locked in for you, we needed to move quickly to make sure your rate lock would not expire. Again, please know that w... read more

Be proactive and helpful in communication. You do this for a living, I do this once a decade. Explain what the steps are and what I should be expecting/doing. Let me know as the loan is progressing. Don't be condescending when answering questions. After ghosting me for months, don't expect me to drop everything to hit some arbitrary closing date so you can close the books before your vacation (yes, I know you were rushing to make your vacation).

Mark was extremely condescending the entire process. He was never proactive in communication. He did not explain what was happening during the loan process or what I needed to do. He would go for weeks with no indication of what the status of my loan was. Then suddenly one day he expected me to drop everything to help him get ready for closing so he could finish it before his vacation. He made the whole process much more stressful than it needed to be.
Business response:
I apologize for the perceived lack of communication. I communicated via email with both you and the co-borrower in-advance of the closing going over what the final steps will be. We all take the responsibility of helping you and all our customers close affordable and sensible mortgages seriously. No matter what any of us have going on in our private lives, we will always make our customers’ needs a top priority. This is why we have earned an average of 4.75 stars out of 5 in July. Sometimes the closing process is just not un... read more

Mark is very knowledgeable. However, the figures were not double checked before finalizing. Our mortgage company was paid $2,300 more than was owed, and it will take a month to get it back. And our credit card company was issued a check for almost $12,000 more than the actual balance. Nearly $15,000 is with other companies rather than in our pockets. Not good, since we need the money for our home renovation project.
