Updated a former 5-star review for May 2024 I'm still a fan of the Club Prep project. I like its goals and enjoy its affordability. That said, my personal recommendation is that if you happen to end up on one of the volleyball teams coached by the head of the volleyball league (who I won't name here, NOT GENE.), you should run, not walk, to another team. Our experience this past season or two was that he was largely an absentee coach, delegating his Club Prep teams to other parents while he focuses on his club teams. Says... read more
I am very grateful for this league during COViD 19. It given my two sons a chance to play sports. There have great COVID-19 proctols and it just awesome! I wish City of Mesa Youth Sports will do sports leagues like them during these times
I have been with Mesa Youth Sports for several years now. It is a great league with a variety of sports. All three of my children all play different sports so it's nice they get to choose which one to play. Also the games are close by and the coaches have been great. I would recommend Mesa Youth Sports to anyone in the east valley!
Gene Ho-Ching is the Founder/Director of Mesa Youth Sports also Gilbert Youth Sports. Gene is a hard working man who has dedicated his talents into making this organization work. My daughter plays volleyball and we really enjoy the teams that have been put together. Overall Mesa Youth Sports is a great club league. We appreciate Gene's hard work.
Just updating that I contacted gene via text to figure out why I was placed so far from my house and why they wouldn't switch when I told them of the unsafe environment (they just gave me credit, even though a team was right by my house). She never replied- though she pretended to care in yelp- they do not reply. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR KIDS
I really wish I could give zero stars. This league is terrible. We have had multiple kids in multiple sports with MYS because of cost and convenience and I guess we'll just chalk it up to "you get what you pay for. Sportsmanship is preached to coaches, parents and kids but staff and refs are able to disrespect everyone and when you take it up with the league you're met with "our site manager (aka staff) and refs are telling a very different story" and you're basically called a liar and nothing gets addressed. We have now had... read more
Terrible program the coach quit and they wouldn't even refund me for the season. It was so organized and a waste of money. Go to I9 much better program for kids.
Worse organized sports program in the East valley. Once schedules come out they are constantly rearranging times and locations. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and we tried 3 seasons and it just never improved.
This league will have you constantly asking the question "What am I paying for?" Team rosters come out late, and when they do come out, our team was not assigned a coach, with the organizers sending all the parents on the team an email telling us to figure out who is going to coach among ourselves, which was its own challenge in itself. Some teams did not have a game schedule until the morning of their first game. You have to buy your own uniform and ball for practice. Coaches have to pay for their own equipment and have... read more
