Amazing credit union kind people very friendly only problem is is that there's a gym above and it feels like the ceiling is about to break
After leaving larger banks for my personal banking, I eventually found Metro Credit Union, and I am very pleased. When you call, you speak to a human. When you visit their location, their human's are polite and helpful. And then you meet someone in the back office via e-mail, and they respond and assist you as if you knew them personally. Thank you Brenda Martin in a back office department who consistently operates reliably, professionally, and with grace, every time. People like you are why I chose this smaller banking faci... read more
One of the best decisions I've ever made was to lose my stressful "big bank" accounts. Sure, the ATMs were convenient because they were everywhere, but I'm sure my blood pressure rose fifty points over the course of my membership with a certain popular American bank. I wish I had joined Metro sooner, because not only did I gain a happier banking experience, but - I didn't lose anything by switching. They have the same services, a recently-modernized online banking system and you can use virtually any ATM because they refund... read more
DON'T open an account with Netro Credit Union if you already have one REMOVE your money! I was tired of big banks and was originally pleased with Metro. Then they did their famous 2020 conversion. I had my bills paid through Metro but suddenly after the conversion I was repeatedly told I didn't have that feature (Do you want to sign up for it?) I had to literally tell an associate to review my free checking account and tell me who was paying the bills? After weeks of calls and promises that I would get a call back NO ONE (ma... read more
I changed my first and middle name at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and I've updated my name in a number of places, including financial service providers and healthcare providers. Bank of America was super helpful - they changed my name the day I asked for it, and also waived my checking account monthly direct deposit requirement when I was briefly between jobs at the beginning of the pandemic. I was so impressed with the manager of the branch I visited, who was really friendly and accommodating on both topics. In... read more
I heated the teller say how they hate americans. They were speaking Spanish. I know Spanish. Don't go here. They hate America.
Not worth it. Fees out the ass, especially their overdraw fees being as much as the amount you overdrew. Online banking was terrible; I couldn't access my account for months, so I didn't even know I was being charged fees for that long. I only found out because I went there to get access to my online account. (It worked while I was there, as soon as I tried to log on from home, no more access again.) They were absolutely unwilling to refund them. I must've lost hundreds to them. They're not much better than any "big bank".
I go there to pay my wifes loan and the loan was good deal when she got it. But most of the time I go into this branch I feel like I got loan from people working in there, customer service is the worst. This is not the place where you want to ask questions. Usually people working at the bank are very nice. In US customer service in most places is the Best. Thanks for the loan anyways.
I'm not interested in working with larger banks because they don't hold the same values I do. My sense about Metro is that they do share many of my values, which is why I have personal and business accounts with them for now. But the sacrifice for doing business with them though is that it's a small shop in terms of support. For example they recently updated their online software and in a clunky rollout required folks to re-establish all their ebills. In the process of doing that I had a temporary issue with Bank of Amer... read more
