Inadequate bathrooms in public spaces. No heating in dining room. Laundry service at an extra fee. Activities are limited outside the facility to small number of residents and limited activities at the facility. Food is cold and limited alternative options. No food services outside of 3 meals.

We appreciate feedback about our services and wanted to provide a few updates. The heating in the dining room has been resolved at this time. Laundry service of bed linens and towels is included within the monthly rent. Personal laundry is charged a nominal fee. There is a monthly calendar of approx. 35 activities given to residents, including daily exercise classes. They don't really honor the contract residents sign. When my sister moved in her contract said laundry was free. That's one of the reasons we went with them. Most other places charge. 10 months after she moved in they started to charge [fee removed] a month. That's a lot when you are on fixed income. To make it worse they told the residents who decided to do their own laundry they couldn't use the big laundry room on the premises. That was reserved for paying residents laundry to be done. Monte Vista Village strives to honor and maintain all the agreements made with residents. At times, we do make alterations to the plan of operations and those changes are presented to all residents in advance so that that individual resident situations may be reviewed, and any personalized adjustments can be reviewed and agreed to. All rental increases are described in depth as part of the resident agreement. If there are ongoing concerns, we would welcome a conversation with the Executive Director.

My Mother passed away on [date removed] at 100 years old. Since Monte Vista was taken over by Pacifica it sent down hill. They threatened us by saying she had to move asap. I have filed a complaint. Not a happy customer. They lied to me on numerous occasions. My opinion will be before Pacifica took over - This is when Monte Vista owned it, when Pacifica took over-0. I spoke with them, but since they do not have memory care, if my aunt's memory became worse she would have to move again, so they said she was not appropriate for their facility.

My 90 year old father has resided at MVV for 2 years. He likes the facilities, neighbors, and the weather. He does not like the food which he says has deteriorated steadily. He also complains that the entertainment and social activities have also steadily declined since he first moved in. My wife and I shared lunch with him there recently and frankly, it was terrible. My 96 year-old mother has resided at Monte Vista VIllage for 3 years. She rents a 1-bedroom unit and although her vision is rapidly deteriorating. she is very cogent, and her memory is excellent. Two characteristics stand out about Monte Vista: a serious theft problem and tasteless, poor quality food. My mother has had had jewelry, money and various personal effects stolen while she is at lunch. This had happened numerous times. We had our loved one here briefly and our experience was not a good one. We had numerous issues with the medication management service, and ended up moving our loved one to a different facility after a short time.

I had billing problems every month. Even the corporate couldn't do simple addition. For meals management waited to the residents left and then secured the dining area which is in the same place as the residents lounge. One day they asked me to turn down the TV because they were having a meeting which was not in the conference room but instead in the residents lounge. The food was okay.
