These huge arms run in my family. My grandma has them, my mom has had them removed, and now it is my turn to have them cut off. I had gastric bypass in 2004 with a starting weight of 260, a lowest weight of 140, and a maintaining weight of 175. I really want to be able to buy a shirt that fits me, not my skarms! My previous plastic surgeon was Jan Turkle across the street from Dr Aker. Her bedside manner was horrible. Dr Aker is a breathe of fresh air. He completed my tummy tuck, it looks great, and he’s a kind man!
Everything seemed good, until the day of surgery. He marked me without my underwear which I specifically asked to put on for accuracy... His ego decided he was good enough to eyeball it which proved an issue post op. My scar sticks out of my underwear and jeans on my hips. He never called my fiance with post op instructions like promised which I believe led to wound separation in my belly button that is now a huge scar that he won't fix. I had 420 cc saline implants placed when I was 20 yrs old. 15 years later, and after nursing 2 babies, I made the decision to have them removed with no other procedure. I had it done last Thursday, and am completely flat chested. It's somewhat depressing, but I don't regret it. I'm excited to see if my neck and shoulder pain goes away. 1st day after surgery was awful. I was by myself all day. I basically stayed on the couch and stayed medicated. 2nd and 3rd were a little better. Now I'm on day 14 and I still have major nerve pain. They are still hard and sensitive. At least I don't have to wear that band any longer. My under arms and upper chest are sore. I hope it gets better.
