Pool is always in balance.... I've used the Nature2 Cartridge for 3 summers now and all I can say is that my pool is always in balance. The only thing I do to our in-ground pool is add chlorine and drop the pool cleaner in about once or twice a week to keep it spotless. We have three 6 year old triplets and they swim almost everyday along with all the other kids in the neighborhood and my pool is always clean, never ever have to shock it. This seems to work on my pool I can't tell you very much about why or how, but a new one every year seems to keep my pool clear without too much attention to it. Apparently incompatible with copper based algaecide, and last winter's unit collapsed so the tiny balls rolled in to the pool, but it has not leaked. Pool must be severely shocked to get the chemical started, after that should last the season.
