It is a great place. They like others places are sometimes short handed.
The hallways have deteriorated some. With the meals and dining they run out of things. Changed chefs 4 times. dinners are okay sometimes. Servers are good. I base the value for cost rating on dining, elevator not working. (They have two elevators and over the past year one has been down on and off for several months). 3rd floor hallway cleanliness and air conditioning hasn't been working. Many improvements could be made in quality of care staff and meals. This is a difficult industry to staff, and I know management works hard to provide a positive environment for residents. They can't seem to find the right "chef" although they do keep trying. Residents complain about meal quality regularly.
So far so good. We have been in contact with them often from what is going on with my dad. But the experience has been good. Everyone has been mainly responsive, sometimes we cannot get in touch with them or have to wait a day for them to call us back.
I would say it was very good and come join me! We are in process of a chef change right now. That 4 could become a 5!
The facility itself is clean, inviting, and conducive to individual needs. The staff, in many ways, became like family because of their professional care and honest concern for my loved one. The food is excellent and I enjoyed many meals. The administrative staff is accommodating to individual needs and maintains a welcoming feeling tone throughout the facility. Practically new building, staff willing to work with you, continuing care, good location. Even though this was for my brother, I would consider it for myself.
I would advise others to carefully investigate the cost of residing there. Our costs rose from $[removed]K in 15 months, while their needs have pretty much remained the same.
My mom definitely likes the activities and the people that she has [name removed] and it is also very clean. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend New Haven at Little River community to other families
