We took our 6 yo lab there because her breathing was bad and getting worse. Our Vet suggested getting a second opinion or seeing a specialist, so we came here. After a couple of hours she was diagnosed with Blastomycosis. She never got her respiration to a healthy and workable level, so we decided to have her euthanized, to much sadness. Unfortunately had to take my pupper in for presumably a bought of gastritis. I was concerned he had an obstruction. Everyone was compassionate and empathetic. They were very busy with some serious cases, and a surgery, but still took time with us. Yes we waited 2 hours to see the doctor, but it's an emergency facility and that is to be expected as they triage just look a human ER would. Our buddy wasn't feeling well shaking and not eating most of the day. We noticed around 4pm that he had some type of infection under his neck. We called and spoke to a friendly lady who asked us several questions and put us at ease. They did say if things did not get better to think about coming into the ER for a review. After he refused some chicken a few times we knew he was not our normal Walter. We reviewed some details online and made the decision to go in. i had to rush my dog in for a gsw and the staff was very kind. they were super patient as i was trying to explain what had happened and rushed her back right away. i sat in an exam room for almost 2 hours but the doctor came in and updated me whenever he could and explained everything to me as it was happening. if i have an emergency, which i hope i don't i would definitely go back.

When my dog passed on we went here because it was our only option and the staff was great and even gave my family paw prints and a little bag of his hair and they were just really great and helped console us in our time of grief would come back here for my new dog
My husband and I were recommended this clinic for our Great Dane's spay and gastro pexy by our regular veterinarian since he doesn't perform the gastro pexy. We had a wonderful experience and everyone we came in contact with was super helpful and treated our dog with lots of love. It's been almost 3 weeks since her surgery and she has had a good recovery and everything went well.
The wait wasn't very long. The staff and vet were very compassionate and informative. The facility was clean, but you could tell it has been there for some time yet very well maintained and cared for. They had an in-house pharmacy, X-ray machine, surgical staff if needed. Everyone had excellent "bedside manners." I'm guessing the previous staff and perhaps veterinarians or vet techs from before are the cause of the bad reviews. We experienced nothing but great service, assistance and aid.
it's never easy to say goodby to a loved one. We had to let our beloved nugget go. The staff was AMAZING! They walked us through the process and were extremely emphatic to our situation. Its hard to say you would go som like this again but if I had to go through it again I would really like it to be at the helpful hands and hear of these folks. Good bless you all. Thank you
Extremely professional experience. From the first phone call to the checkout, each person we interacted with were empathetic and kind. The DVM did a great job explaining the options for my cat and answering any questions we had. They made the experience of euthanasia as good as it could be. They were very kind and gave me all the time I needed with my cat to say goodbye. Although it was not the desired outcome I wanted for my pet, I am so happy it happened at NIVES.
