Overall it's a nice place. The facilities have not been kept up like it should have been, but they do have a new maintenance lead now. Hopefully that will help. Most of the staff are very courteous and friendly, and do a great job. In my opinion, the administrator is not a great manager. I managed people for over 30 years, and this administrator leaves a lot to be desired.
The Oaks is nicely and quietly situated well in Beaufort. The activity director is fabulous as well as a few select staff . They are friendly and treat the residents with respect. It’s kept clean and my mom’s room is nice. The maintenance guy is top notch. A few glitches from time to time when short staffed . Medication dispensing delays etc . So impressed with all the staff, their kindness and professionalism. They are so positive and really understand what their clients are experiencing. I can pick up the phone to call and talk to [name removed] and it doesn't matter which one answers. My parents are happy and we are at rest knowing they are in excellent hands. Just wish we could clone them and set up in St Louis for another loved one of mine.
What really stood out to us was the cleanliness of the community and just the lay out - it is really nice and all the staff members have been good to work with. The only reason the care services got a 4 out of 5, is sometimes our loved one does not want to cooperative when it comes to bathing, but we would still recommend this community to other families.
Overall I think they do a good job at Morningside of Beaufort! The staff here is friendly and caring, and they do a great job looking out for the people who live here. My only complaint is that I think they are a little understaffed. The people they do have work hard, but a few more would really help!
I moved my Mother to Morningside over 2 years ago. I am one of 3 children, but the only care giver. Yes Morningside is a bit pricey, but I do not know what I would do without them. I want my Mother in a premium care facility where she receives the utmost in care. This facility has never...not once...let me down. With my work schedule I may pop in at 2 pm or 2 am...never announced. Not once have I discovered anything questionable or out of line regarding her care and well being. I came and toured here when I was looking around. I was not overly impressed. I didn't get the feeling when I walked in that this would be mom's home. I didn't think she would like it. When I walked in I got the feeling that I was interrupting them. I realize that they are busy, but I knew it wasn't the place for my mom. They weren't rude, they were nice, but I didn't get that we're glad you came feeling.
They’re pretty expensive, but I guess all of them are. The staff is so friendly – that’s the biggest thing that stood out for me and my family. We got to try the food and it was okay. There is enough parking.
