So impressive. The staff that greeted us immediately made my mom feel welcomed! So Friendly. [name removed] gave us a tour of a model 1 bedroom as well as Moms actual apartment. My mom loved both and I could see how excited she was at the place. [name removed] answered all our questions patiently and is wonderful! Thank you for relieving a lot of stress we had regarding moving to Pacifica! Can't wait for mom to move here+make it home!

The 2 ladies who toured the community with me were knowledgeable and friendly. We are excited to have my mom and dad move in. They took our deposit and it is totally refundable. Very happy to have found the community so close to my family.

I needed to get my mom from skilled nursing in North Carolina to assisted living in California ... and I knew nothing about the senior living world. Saying I was overwhelmed doesn't begin to describe it. The Pacifica Oceanside Executive Director and Community Relations Director treated me like family from the moment we met and have helped every step of the way. Simply put ... they are angels ... positively impacting the quality of life for my entire family.

The residents don't appear to be closely monitored. As a result family members need to check on resident needs . An example is trimming finger and toe nails. The laundry process does not work. My Mom is missing a great deal of her clothes and has more clothes from other residents put in her room than her own clothes. Simple things such as toilet paper and adult diapers are not provided. Few if any activities are done anymore.

We take all concerns like this seriously, but we must clarify our procedures. Staff are not allowed to trim residents' nails, but our podiatrist visits every month for this purpose. We also do not provide toiletries nor incontinence supplies. This was all information provided upon move in, but we are happy to clarify further what is included. Please reach out to our Executive Director, as the care and happiness of both residents and families is our top priority.
As a family member, I am extremely disappointed in the leadership at this community. Over time, it became very clear that management does not truly care about staff or residents. Concerns are brushed off, and nothing ever changes. When people in charge don’t show compassion or accountability, it creates an environment that feels unsafe and uncaring.

There does not appear to be enough staff for the number of residents. There also is a difficulty keeping up with needed maintenance of the building and grounds. Communication from staff regarding resident medical issues also needs improvement.

The transition in was pretty terrible. [name removed], who reviewed my father initially at his skilled nursing facility set him as the lowest level of care, which turned out to be far from the case and felt like her way of making the facility seem cheaper. They almost immediately moved him from level 1 to level 4, but she had never established any sort of care plan or pharmaceutical needs and was then promoted to the site manager or something and was just clueless. Facility is nice and well maintained. The food is terrible. The quality of care is poor. The care givers that came to my dad's apartment were mean and unprofessional. We had to move my dad to another facility to get him the care that he needed.
