Following directions, this neither fits in to the roof rack channel (which seems to be what the instructions are going for by having you first remove the trim piece that hides the channel instead of just removing the little plastic tabs that expose the mounting bolt holes) nor sits on top (barely any overlap and a long mounting bolt hole makes it completely unstable and insecure). This is absolutely not a fit for a 2011-2014 Mazda 2.
