Dr. Karr and her whole team were excellent. I had an emergency and she took care of everything. She explained everything thoroughly and her front office team was super organized and friendly! I only wish I had a dentist like her when I was younger!
My kids were very comfortable and understood the importance of good dental hygiene after their appointment with Dr. Karr. The office staff was very accommodating for a family with a busy schedule.
I scheduled a dental appointment for my child with Pediatric Dental Care only after calling to confirm they were in-network with both of our dental insurance plans. Their staff told me they were in-network — but for some reason, I received a bill for $1,100 because they were actually out-of-network the entire time. They stated on the phone after the fact they are not in net-work with ANY insurance. When I disputed the bill, their office deflected responsibility, pointed to a form I signed after being misinformed, and refused... read more
Our first visit went well, and she seemed attentive and professional. Second visit we had some cavities. The way she and her office staff treated my daughter was atrocious. She asked my 5 year-old if she was drinking out of a baby bottle from her baby brother … I told her no, my daughter (embarrassed) also told her no. She insisted this theory. I stated very clearly that we didn’t even utilize baby bottles as I was exclusively breastfeeding. She then said we must be having a lot of juice. This went on for a while. Then she j... read more
Business response:
Hello!! Here at Pediatric Dental Care we strive to give every patient the best experience possible. We love engaging kids from the moment they sit down and meeting the parents. Each child is unique in their own way and have their own needs. After a comprehensive exam, a review of any necessary treatment is so important so the parent has a good understanding of any and all recommendations!
Let’s just say, I was relieved my kiddos aged out. We were happier when her partner was still included in the establishment but she left and things changed.
Business response:
Ty for your feedback. I wish I could reach out but I do not see you are a patient of record. Pediatric Dental Care is a private & locally owned solo Pediatric Dental practice and strives to make each patient happy and healthy one smile at a time. We emphasize healthy eating and proper oral hygiene to maintain excellent oral health. If you are in need of a referral for a general dentist, please feel free to reach out if you are a true patient of record and let us know what we can do better!
Go anyway else. The office can never 'find' your insurance and tries to make you pay for things out of pocket. They want 50% down before they even do the work! Dr. Carr was rude when I told her I wanted to wait on a cavity until our next appointment since we will still paying off my daughters previous dentist work. She was condescending and rude when she told me that she was marking down parent refusal. This was a cavity that she 'fixed' herself yet a new cavity formed under it. We went to Dr. Tori in Schererville and she fi... read more
Is zero an option? I felt forced to purchase expensive treatment for my son after they told me that my insurance would pay for it. Turns out they don't. So now I have to pay 5k for his dental work. She was very condescending to me as a parent when I met with her about my child's care. I paid over 2k out of pocket for copays, then 3k for anestesia that they forced me to get while saying I was inhumane if I didn't get that for my son. The dental assistants were nice but the dentists were horrible.

Thank you for providing your feedback and letting us know about this issue, Mom. We set a high standard for ourselves and are truly sorry to hear that standard was not met in your interaction with us. Please get in touch with us on (219) 322-7610 and we'd be happy to help you out as I don't have your name in our system. Cheers, Pediatric Dental Care, Inc., Lynn M. Karr DDS
Only schedules in the morning for kids with special needs or children under 5. No experience with autistic kids. Held my son down with assistant and he bit down on mirror and cracked it. My son could have swallowed glass. Charged me$80 for a 2 minute visit and accomplished nothing and wanted me to schedule another visit for a tooth cleaning. This was the worst experience as I come from medical background. Save your money and your sanity and find someone who actually cares about your kiddos.
I was unhappy, uncomfortable and disappointed. They seemed like they were bothered by my child who was upset. They did not want to spend any extra time. I felt rushed. Not a good bedside manner.
Business response:
Hi Jennifer. I am so sorry your experience was not a happy one. I know other options were presented as all children respond differently. I left you a voicemail to offer any additional assistance and review everything again that we went over at the first visit to help! Please let us know what we can do to help you feel more comfortable. We treat children with all kinds of needs and are never bothered ! All we see are kids! Thank you, Dr. Karr
