Overall the Polaris works well for cleaning the walls and bottom of the pool. Not so much for our two Cabo shelves. It very rarely makes it up onto the shelves and we are constantly having to brush them almost daily. Some of that could be the pool design but we were hoping the Polaris would work a little better than it has.

I like the unit itself very much . I do not like the chord because it continually twists and prevents the unit from reaching the whole pool area.

Here are some suggestions to improve the cord tangling issue: 1) Remove the cleaner from the pool and lay the cable across the pool deck to relieve coiled memory. 2) Allow the cleaner cable to enter the pool at the center of the length of the pool. 3) Only use enough cable to reach the farthest point from the cable entry location 4) Gently toss the necessary cable across the pool water for even distribution instead of dropping the cable in a pile. Not cheap but well worth it. This is an excellent pool cleaner especially since it also cleans the sides. Very easy to clean and it picks up everything. I've owned it for over a year with no problems. The remote control feature however is basically useless since it is not dual band and only functions on 2.4 GHz which never works well in an urban environment with too much interference. This is the second unit we've had in eight years. We beat our first one to death over the last six years and human-made things do wear out after heavy use. We literally burned-it out in our windy, dusty part of the country. So, we gladly upgraded to the 9650iQ Sport and love it. The iPhone connectivity and most importantly, the swivel in the line to help combat power cable twisting is a fantastic invention. This is the best! The only problem is with the filter element. It’s obviously the item that has built in obsolescence. It’s a wear item. Kind of annoying. All in all I do love it though.

To receive the longest life from your cleaner parts, remove the cleaner from the pool when not in use. Do not super chlorinate or add acid to the pool when the cleaner is submerged. This guy cleans the bottom and side walls exceptionally well. I love that it is controlled with my iPhone and I can call it up to the side of the pool for removal. I also love that the baked can easily be hosed clean and it is not a clumsy bag.

Cord gets tangled way too often. Also loses connectivity way too often. Good concept but definitely needs some work. For the price I paid I expected it to be way more consistent.
