Polaris G52 Back-up Valve Assembly. This is a factory original Polaris replacement back up valve. It has a timer mechanism inside that diverts water out of a jet every 5-10 minutes. This jet acts as a back up, pulling the cleaner out from the pool floor or wall. There is an arrow on one side of the hose barb that should face towards the cleaner. Works perfectly Perfect. My backup device died years ago and I just replaced it with a swivel, as the cost from the pool store was pretty exorbitant. But it I did find the sweep would occasionally get stuck, and this device is what's needed to keep this from happening. I installed it and it works perfectly.

Polaris back-up valve Difficult to disconnect original backup valve, resorted to cutting line to replace valve. Polaris not working as expected, pauses for several minutes, have to move it manually to start motion
