Five Stars Been using the Ptouch for years at work and decided to get one for the house.
Versatile Label Maker Good labeler for file keeping. Multiple choices of size, style, and font type. It's a little more complex than a labeler that provides only one font style and one font type. There's a bit of a learning curve. The instruction manual could have been better if it had used a larger font for instructions. Takes some effort for a 75-year-old like me, but I'm getting better.
Great for the price I like P-Touch a lot because it takes AA batteries (versus AAA), comes with an AC adapter, and can print the larger 18mm labels, which can be nice for certain applications. I even use the 18mm size (and smaller) for putting names on greeting cards with a nice font and design, which can impress the recipient. Just one example. While this unit is a bit larger than smaller units, and also costs a bit more, I think it's worth it.
Helps keep loaner equipment from being lost Labeling everything in our office. We are responsible for a bunch of test equipment that gets loaned out. Sometimes the power cables or other stuff doesn't come back with them. Now everything is labeled!

Clunky OS Complex and unintuitive interface stands between you and the myriad applications this label maker is capable of, e.g. There is no button that simply says "print". You can hit "OK" and that often works, or the black oval button upper right will do the job. Also, there is an egregious overrun of blank label before and after printing, defeatable only by clever manipulation of the operating system. The OS is so bad it could have been designed by the new team at Apple.
