Re-roof the mansard portion of my home Red River roofing sub-contracted the job to a small company owned by a Mexican gentleman. His crew rushed the job and at first did not put enough nails in each shingle to meet the warranty requirements of the shingle. After those shingles were removed, they quickly re-roofed the home. We have tried on multiple occasions to correct the issues through the installation of the roof, which was installed in 2005 and for the warranty period afterwards, which has expired in 2006. Install new roof. After I signed to give them the contract, it was 9 months before they started work. When the project manager come to look at my house, he had no idea what he was doing or looking at, the salesman that sold the job no longer worked there to be able to explain he drawings and quote to anyone, so it was an interpretation and what was discussed. I have a small roofed porch at my front door. Five years earlier, Red River re-roofed the porch with a two year warranty. In the spring of this year, I discovered that the seal had leaked and the wood had rotted on the inside, unseen until the plywood on the lower surface peeled. Our company originally contracted with [member name removed] in October of 2006 for work, including a two year workmanship warranty. She contacted our office in 2012 regarding the leak. Her workmanship warranty had expired years ago, but we still chose to try and make accommodations for her situation in good faith. I used Red River Roofing & Construction to put in a sky light. I was not pleased with Red River Roofing & Construction. They weren't professional. They weren't on time. They didn't show up when they were suppose to. They were difficult to get a hold of. They took forever to get the job done. The sky light leaked. It took a long time for them to correct the problem. They were over billing us. I would never use them again.
They did a total roof replacement. They gave me a bid for a total roof replacement. About a month later, I called them back out to sign the paperwork and I was told that they would be here between 1-14 days. By the 17th, they still hadn't come out and I spoke with a secretary that mentioned they were about 6 weeks behind schedule. We apologized for not being more proactive about calling him to explain that his job would be delayed one day for every day it rained. Ultimately, we missed our estimated start date by 1 to 3 days, depending on how you count. The member indicated he had not seen what was posted on Angies List and said it was completely inaccurate. We had tennis to soft ball size hail that ruined nearly all the roofs in our area. Pending contracts for reroofing four houses in our family, RRR first checked the roofs for leaks. One company person climbed up on the roofs and put little (most less than 1 foot square) patches of blue tarp where they saw damage. Oddly,they did NOT give any estimates for replacing the roofs.
