My husband and I decided to venture out to a "safe" restaurant and picked Ristorante Bartolotta in Wauwatosa. The day before our reservation, I was contacted by a member of the restaurant's staff to go over the guidelines of dining in their beautiful outside patio. The safety of patrons and staff is foremost in their mind. The night was magical! From the moment we entered, we were taken on a culinary tour of Sicily. Four courses of the freshest regional food. The trip to Sicily was a joy to my palate. The menu options were interesting and enticing and made for difficult selection. Upon careful thought, I selected the soup, casarecce al pesto trapenase, a more tomato based pesto, melt-in-your-mouth Mediterranean seabass with a spectacular blend of tomato, lemon, capers, Castelvetrano green olives, and fresh oregano. We have dined at Bartolotta before but not since COVID-19. Their outdoor dining area was so well decorated and unique. Great detail was put into making you feel that you were in Italy. The food was excellent; the wine recommended was excellent; the precautions they took were beyond what you normally see. We felt very safe. An absolutely delightful evening!!
Great dinner and wine. My friend and I had an excellent experience in their outdoor dining area which used to be the outdoor area for Piccolo pizza.
Outdoor patio was beautiful and very inviting. Service was so-so but understandable with the covid concerns. We felt very safe with their standards for keeping everything sanitary. Did not feel that the value was there in regard to the entrees. They never asked about replenishing the bread basket and did not ask if we wanted coffee after the meal. Outstanding food, great advice from staff, felt very safe during COVID-19 with how careful they were -- glass screens, separated tables, waiters notify when arriving so you can remask while they're near. Chef Paul Bartolotta visited tables and thanked all diners.
The patio setting was perfect, fresh air, good spacing between tables, great service, hostess very wine knowledgeable, great Italian accent. I only wish summer was just starting.
Our party of four enjoy a wonderful, flavorful dinner. Our server was friendly, knowledgable and pleasant company. This was our first fine dining Covid experience and we will look forward to our next visit. Thank you to all at Bartolotta that made this magical evening possible.
