Dr. Gazmarian is thorough, caring and compassionate.
Dr. Gazmarian is the most unprofessional and disrespectful physician I've ever met. He dismissed all of our concerns, ignored my dad's complaints and pain, and talked down to us as if we were idiots. I'm an ICU nurse, and the level of disrespect I was treated with is astounding. It's very clear that to him, patients are considered numbers, not people. Probably the worst doctor's appointment I've ever had. Much like the reviewer who said 'if you're looking for a dismissive doctor, then this is your guy'. His manner was immediately dismissive, don't waste my time attitude, also told me live with the pain. He disregarded everything and thought I was only there to get a signature for intermittent FMLA. If you are looking for a dismissive doctor who cannot wait to get of the room...then Dr. Getelman is your guy. He offered no treatment aside from the idea I should learn to live with my pain, because he could not see a reason for it, based on only a physical assessment of just touching my injured area of less than 10 seconds. I left in tears and will be looking for another doctor.
If I could give less than one star for him I would. This place doesn't deserve to have even one star. I fell in a street and had some scars on my left hand and knee. I saw Dr Gazmarian (who is not a surgeon) at SCOI in Van Nuys a week after to make sure I don't have any broken bones. They did 2 xRays, and the doctor spent 5-7 minutes with me. I saw Dr. Gazmarian for an issue with my hip/leg. I had pain in my hip/leg for about 2 weeks which impacted all my physical activities. A nurse took an x-ray of my hip and took me to an examination room. THE DOCTOR CAME AND SPENT ALL OF 5 MINUTES WITH ME. He looked at the x-ray and said the hip was fine. He checked the nerves in my leg and then he extended my right leg outwards and when I told him that was painful, that was the end of the examination. Would not recommend for workers comp my back has been hurting ever since I got hurt at work always have to remind him I didn’t ask to be here, but explains what’s wrong with you but won’t fight for you when it comes to insurance...
I was referred to see Dr. Gazmarian for chronic pain in my right knee. When he came in, he sized me up, didn't even look at the x-ray that I brought in and then immediately started talking about injections. He hadn't even looked at my knee, knew nothing (nor cared at all) about me or my normal activity. When he finally decided to take a look at my knee, he had me do things with my left knee when in fact I was there for my RIGHT knee. He was very dismissive and I will not ever go to him again.
