SALTY! Not just a cleaver name. Wow - the salt on the steak rub was overwhelming - made it hard to appreciate the bernaise sauce. Good wedge salad. Good loaded baked. Less salt required.
One steak was not prepared as ordered had to be sent back twice. Server explanation of different cuts for their special was incorrect said it was like a filet but it was the thinnest steak I ever saw. Very dissappointed.
The food was excellent and the price although a little on the expensive side was more or less what I expected from a steakhouse. I do think more could be offered along with the main course in terms of sides beside just a baked potato. Perhaps some veggies etc. My only real complaint was the service. Our server was friendly but it felt very much like we were not a priority to her. We noticed her frequenting her other table far more often than ours. I've been twice now and they never put me down for my open table reservation. I made sure to tell them this time, and still NO POINTS. emailed Open table and they didn't do anything Annoying. What's the point? Overall, this place has amazing food and good atmoy
Over priced for a 10 ounce steak that had 3 ounces of fat....any place that charges extra for add ons doesn't work well for me.
I went there for our anniversary, I wrote a request of having a table against a wall, or booth. Not a table in the middle of a room surrounded on all sides people. We of course got a table in the middle of the room, after I watched the lady who sat us look at my request on her iPad seating chart. There are so many great places for steak in yyc, don't waste your time and money here. TBH, we've had way better steaks and dining experiences at casual places like cactus club and earls. We came here for a birthday, and indicated the event on our reservation. It was never acknowledged. But then again, our server never even bothered to say hello to us or introduce herself. Music was so loud, everyone had to shout to be heard at their tables. They got our side order wrong. Steaks were horribly under-cooked. Steak that was sent back was simply put back on the grill (or in the broiler) rather than replaced, so it came back over-cooked. Second round of our drinks took almost half an hour to come. Dessert, same as the second round of drinks. No compensation offered, except the $3 overcharge for the side we did not order.
